Things to Do when Out and About
There is plently to do when out and about but a car is essential. The cottage is in a rural location and is perfect for a relaxing break with bread, cheese, wine and sun lounger in the garden (log fire in winter).
Nigloland
The Nigloland theme park is a really nice family adventure park. The range of attractions, facilities, the warm and cheerful atmosphere, ensure that a day at Nigloland is a MAGIC moment to be shared with family or friends. Over 37 attractions and shows in a natural setting. Thrilling rides for the brave and an entire village devoted to children. Approx 45 mins drive
Lakes
For swimming, fishing, boating and lazing on the beach visit Lac D'Orient. Nearly 5,000 hectares of water comprises three lakes in the heart of the Forêt d'Orient Regional Nature Park. A land where water, forests and earth come together, the Orient Forest Regional Natural Park is a wildlife sanctuary which covers 70,000 hectares. Approx 40 mins drive.
Champagne
Set off to explore a vineyard sparkling in the heart of the Côte des Bar in southern Champagne. You will be surprised by the superb wine growing villages. Take advantage of them to discover the remarkable grape varieties grown in the Les Riceys region. Finish your break with a visit to a cellar and taste some Champagne you can take home with you. Approx 20 mins drive (champagne houses stretch north from there for a further 2 hours!)
Beaune
Beaune - the captial of Burgundy wines. Situated in the heart of prestigious vineyards, like Pommard,
Corton-Charlemagne, La Romanée-Conti whose names make wine lovers' eyes sparkle, Beaune is also a city of art with the master element of the town's heritage: the Hôtel-Dieu (Hospices de Beaune) and its multicoloured roofs.

Troyes
Troyes (French pronunciation: [tʁwa]) is a commune and the capital of the Aube Department in north-central France. It is located on the Seine river about 150 km (93 mi) southeast of Paris. Many half-timbered houses (mainly of the 16th century) survive in the old town. Approx 40 mins drive
Route du Cremant Bourgogne
Just a few miles over the border from Champagne the sparking wine although some of excellent quality is not allowed to be labelled as Champagne. There is are host of young Burgundy Cremant houses were visits and tasting can be undertaken a short drive from the house. Approx 15 mins drive.
Trout Fishing
Just a stones through from Mont Remin Cottage is the trout and salmon farm. It is open for picnics and fishing. A lovely, friendly, family run business. Perfect for children: they catch the fish, the farm prepare it, and you take it back for your BBQ.
Dijon
See the colours of the glazed roofs, touch the history of the Dukes of Burgundy, hear the tinkling of glasses in a cellar, feel the nature near the Burgundy canal and taste the delights of Burgundian terroir. A large city famous for its mustard with numerous cafes and restaurants. Approx 1 hr 15 drive
